Pittsburgh East Scribes
A Writers Group for Aspiring Christian Writers

FAQ

Who started Pittsburgh East Scribes and why?

Mark Venturini started P.E. Scribes. Mark's stories have appeared in Leading Edge Magazine, Flash Me Magazine, flashquake and The Sword Review. Early in his writing experience, Mark spent many months searching for a writers group that would help him develop his writing skills. He was fortunate to find two excellent writers groups - The Greensburg Writers Group and WorD (Write or Die). It's taken several years for Mark's skills to catch up with his desire. But now that he has had stories published, he wants to pass on his experience to other aspiring Christian writers.

Where do you meet?

Meetings are on the last Thursday of each month from 6:30 - 8:00 PM at the Plum Borough Community Library, 445 Center-New Texas Road, Plum Borough.  Directions

What type of stories do you critique?

We accept any genre. We are a Christian group, so our only reqirement is that the story be written from a Christian wordview.

I don't know how to critique, what should I do?

Read our Procedures and Why Critique? pages. Then try to attend a meeting to see how harmless we really are.

Do you do anything else besides critique stories?
